Wonderlust
(In Development)
Located in New Hope, PA, this commercial building is being converted into a private modern residential home. When completed, it will bring architectural diversity to New Hope by serving as a more modern counterpoint to the nearby traditional structures.
The result will be a 3,600-square-foot single family home with modern amenities and two off-street parking spots right in the heart of the bustling New Hope Borough. A simple material and color palette – natural wood, white walls, black steel, and glass – provides a backdrop for the owner’s furnishings and collections.
Luxury Flat
Standing above the Delaware River, a few miles north of where George Washington stormed the British and turned the tide of the Revolutionary War, this New Hope Luxury Flat basks in the natural wonder and solitude of the sprawling landscape.
Barn Restoration
New Hope, Doylestown, Solebury, and Princeton do not disappoint with an abundance of antique buildings and barns. We have developed a passion for antique barn restorations and renovations with numerous period buildings we have worked on. Our portfolio encompasses numerous barns dating from 1700’s to Federal Style timber-framed homes from the 1850’s. Each project posses its own unique challenges and need for attention to detail.
The Red Barn
Situated right in the center of the Carversville (PA) historic district, The Red Barn was in need of restoration as time and weather had taken a toll on it. Due to certain historic building restrictions and the owner’s desire to have minimal change to the exterior, the restoration focused predominately on rebuilding from the inside to provide structural integrity and to create interior spaces for modern living and entertaining. To accomplish this, Alpha Genesis rebuilt the foundation, frame, and roof, creating an entirely new building inside the antique exterior.
A critical part of this historic barn renovation was striking a balance between revealing the original building materials, which had been covered by decades of construction, and integrating new modern building details and material to accommodate urban style living and entertainment. For instance, we used raw wide-plank oak boards to create a rustic feel and lofted a new white ceiling to add volume and lightness to the space. Additionally, we custom designed and fabricated large metal doors to add an industrial edginess to the main room. The result is a modern retreat with a full bar, bath, and sound & media package, perfect for modern living and entertainment.
